Madison Spine Sports Medicine Program is proud to feature The BodyMap. The BodyMap is a web based tool used for professional athletes worldwide. It was developed through a collaboration with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the industry’s leader for health and fitness education.

A BodyMap Assessment pinpoints muscle imbalances and allows the user to visualize these areas for improvement.  Under the guidance of a licensed healthcare professional, you will learn exercises to correct these imbalances and help you perform at optimal levels.  The BodyMap is ideal for athletes of all ages and anyone who enjoys exercise.

Frequently Asked Questions about the BodyMap

What can I expect during a session with the BodyMap?
You will perform a specialized exercise routine that is designed exclusively for your body.  The exercises will be performed precisely and in a specific order to achieve maximum benefit.

What is Painfree Training all about?
Certain pain that we’re feeling when we’re working out may be not typical muscle soreness.  It could be a sign of a problem. You need to have a professional assess it before it becomes more serious.   Athletes working out with a team typically follow the team’s regimen.  Working out with the BodyMap at Madison Spine allows you to exercise under the guidance of a healthcare professional who can assess a movement disorder.  Team workouts are typically not specialized for one person and not all bodies are the same.  We all move a little differently.  The BodyMap takes those differences into account and creates a specialized workout for your needs so you are less likely to put stress on your body.

I’m already working out with a Personal Trainer.  Why would I need the BodyMap?
The BodyMap is an assessment of your movement performed by a licensed healthcare professional which may not be done by a personal trainer.  Following the BodyMap program is more than just exercising.  You will be getting a full movement assessment and learning how to move to reduce pain and avoid injury.  A regular session with a trainer may not help prevent future injuries whereas the BodyMap is designed to protect you from injuries. It is the best of both Physical Therapy and Personal Training.

I hurt myself knee this season. Is it worth it to come in to use the BodyMap?
Definitely!  You should make it a priority to come in when you have an injury and use the BodyMap.  This way you can have your movement assessed and find out if a particular movement is causing your pain.  Using the BodyMap may help you get back out there sooner.

How much does a BodyMap Assessment cost?
The BodyMap costs are comparable to the rates charged by most Personal Trainers.  It will cost $125 for the Initial Assessment and $75 for each additional follow- up.  Package deals are available.

Are there group rates if I bring in my teammates?
Follow- ups booked with one additional friend are $50/visit per person.
